“They decided. Them in the city. They decided to drown our town. For progress.”

The order came one day that Farfield was to be flooded. They started building the dam. The residents had 6 months to leave. Or not. This is the story of what happened next.

Recently I asked the young theatre makers if anyone fancied writing a blog about what we do and one of the several brilliant responses read: “One of the best parts about CYTM is that we get a theme then we can make anything we want out of it and it feels more special because it really feels like it’s our show – and it’s completely original so the audience don’t know what’s going to happen because they haven’t seen it over and over again.”

The young theatre makers are hugely talented in both creating an original play which intrigues and inspires then and in working hard to achieve a production of a high standard. I think The Drowning shows off that talent but, more importantly, invites audiences to share these dark, funny, and thought-provoking stories.
